Lieutenant Colonel’s Last Flight – F/A-18D Hornet

San Diego Family Photography

A good friend recently celebrated his final flight in the F/A-18D, and he invited me to capture the moment with his family. After 22 years of dedicated service in both the Navy and Marines — including multiple deployments to Iraq — Lieutenant Colonel Clayton Penton is transitioning from the skies to a desk. Wishing him the best in this new chapter, and heartfelt thanks for his service

Baby Jackson

Baby Jackson paid me a visit yesterday – and he might win the award for the best behaved newborn I have photographed in the last year. Over 2 hours it was 90% smiles and sleeping with just a bit of protest thrown in when we went for a change in outfits. And of course the BEST part… nobody got peed on!! He’s an absolutely beautiful little boy.

Shelby visits San Diego

San Diego Family Photography

A couple of years ago I had the pleasure of photographing a really nice beach wedding in Mission Bay for Brian and Heather so I was thrilled when they told me they were coming to town with an adorable new bundle in tow. I met up with them this morning for some quiet beach time before the crowds picked up – and Baby Shelby was (almost) perfect :). Everyone insisted it was OK to get some pictures at the rare moments when she got fussy so I was sure to include one here!!

Cute Doggies

The flowers behind my place are in full bloom right now – so I am thrilled to have a few photo sessions lined up to take advantage. These nasturtiums grow under a beautiful canopy of mulberries creating a magical lighting scenario for photography. I was lucky enough to photograph Melissa and her adorable dogs once before… and they behaved very well for me once again today.
